PAF and British Council jointly arranged air-show marks 70 years of Pak-UK friendship

The United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force Aerobatic team joined Pakistan Air Force to light the sky for Karachi people.

The jointly organized air show aimed to celebrate 70 years of kinship between the United Kingdom and Pakistan. The Red Arrows are the pride of the Royal Air Force and one of the most famous aerobatics display teams in the world.

The UK’s Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team regularly known as the Red Arrows has put an amazing flying demonstration in Karachi sea view beach to the public.

The event was attended by Corps Commander Karachi Lt General Shahid Baig Mirza, Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and other dignitaries.

The remote group comprises of more than 120 work forces, including pilots, architects and basic care staff.  They showed the brilliance and abilities of the Royal Air Force (RAF).

The pilots are most highly qualified and experienced in the RAF and last year flew in 4,800 displays in 57 countries. It is believed they are touring Pakistan after 20 years.

The group as of now flies the BAE Systems Hawk T1 flies and can fly as low as 100 feet and achieve paces of up to 600 miles for every hour.

Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft are also participating in the air show, and made remarkable performance

According to the PAF, the blue skies of Karachi would turn red with the presence of Royal Air Force team which is famous for its jaw-dropping formation aerobatics.

In addition to ministers and dignitaries, schoolchildren from the PAF Saleem Nawaz Fazaia College had the opportunity to interact and engage with the Red Arrow and JF-17 Thunder pilots.

The British Council in Pakistan country director Ms Rosemary Hilhorst OBE said that The British Council is delighted to have such a strong partnership with the Pakistan Air Force in education supporting its schools and colleges.
