In the wake of the devastating flood that struck eastern Libya, the world is joining hands to assist the wrecked nation as fears mount that the death toll in the city of Derna alone could reach a staggering 20,000.
Deadly floods in Libya, triggered by a massive Mediterranean storm that burst dams, swept away buildings, and washed away about a quarter of the eastern coastal city of Derna, have claimed over 2,000 lives and left approximately 10,000 people missing.
More than 70 people were injured and tens of thousands of homes were left without power as Typhoon Haikui made its way across Taiwan, officials said. Haikui is the first typhoon in four years to directly hit Taiwan.
