Pakistan Security Forces have achieved a major success as the top terrorist, commander of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) spokesperson Asad Mansoor, surrendered himself to Pakistan ‘security forces.

According to news officials Mansoor who was affiliated with Jamaat ul Ahrar, the splinter group of TTP, surrendered along with two associates before the law enforcement agencies in Dera Ismail Khan, some three weeks ago.

The JuA, based in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan and is responsible for many deadly terrorist attacks on security forces and killing of hundreds of Pakistan in different parts of the country during past few years.

Since 2014, when the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar first surfaced, it proved itself to be a lethal terrorist group, perpetrating some of the most brutal attacks in Pakistan.

The JuA faction of TTP stands apart from the parent group in its incessant focus on civilians and other soft targets.

JuA is a more hardline expression of the TTP, and that’s saying something, given the horrific things the TTP has done over the years.

It bears mentioning that in April, last year, former spokesperson for the TTP and a key commander of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) Ehsanullah Ehsan had surrendered to the forces.

According to military experts surrender of the commander of a banned terrorist outfit speaks volume about the successes and achievements of ongoing operation Radd ul Fasaad.

Brigadier (R) Asad Munir believes that the only way the embattled Taliban factions can regroup is if a ‘90s like’ civil war erupts in Afghanistan.

Last year In July, Pakistan welcomed the United Nations Security Council decision to include JuA in the list of entities subject to travel bans, arms embargos and freezing of assets.

Pakistan Army, intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies with the help and support of the entire nation have been successfully carrying out the operations against “fasadis”.
