Turkish air defense system Sungur can be integrated into land, air and sea platforms
Turkey’s indigenous man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) is all set to enter service with the military.
“Roketsan’s Sungur air defense system is ready to enter inventory after successful shot tests,” Ismail Demir, Turkey’s President of Defense Industries (SSB) announced.

Sungur is the new member of the country’s progressive air defense system that can be integrated in land, air and sea platforms.
The air defense system has 360-degree shooting capability and can shoot while moving, along with effective target detection, diagnosis, identification, tracking both day and night.
Sungur is ahead of its class with its high maneuverability, powerful target-hit capacity and countermeasures, titanium warhead, and vision that allows the target to be viewed from a long-range, Demir said.
