Two pilots martyred as Pakistan Army helicopter crashes in Siachen

At least two pilots lost their lives as a Pakistan Army helicopter crashed on Monday in bad weather near the Siachen glacier.

The two pilots were identified as Major Irfan Bercha and Major Raja Zeeshan Jahanzeb.

The helicopter went down on the Siachen glacier, one of the world’s longest mountain glaciers, located in the Karakoram Range, and often referred to as the “highest battleground on earth”.

Rescue helicopters and troops have been dispatched to Siachen, the military said.
