U.S. Ambassador Richard Olson’s farewell message for Pakistanis
ISLAMABAD (Pakistan) – In his farewell video message for Pakistanis, U.S. Ambassador Richard G. Olson shared his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Pakistan and the friends he made during his 3-year service in Pakistan.
“I would like to thank the people of Pakistan for their warm hospitality and the sense of friendship” he said.
Ambassador Olson who has been a diplomat since last 30 years, said his service has taken to many places.
“But Pakistan will retain a special place in my heart.”
He is confident that the relationship between Pakistan and United States is on a positive course.
“We are advancing our historic partnership on the basis of mutual respect and pursuit of common interest,” he said referring to demonstrated cooperation by Pakistan and United States in the fields of education, energy, security and economic prosperity.
He hopes “Pakistan and United States will continue to build bonds of friendship in years to come.”
Ambassador Richard Olson has been appointed as new Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan (SRAP). He will assume his new responsibilities as SRAP on November 17, according to a statement by US State Department Spokesperson, John Kirby.
