WhatsApp, most popular smartphone messaging application with over 1.2 billion users has reportedly been testing a feature that allows users to pin conversations with their favorite contacts to the top to the Chats tab.

Most of the times during WhatsApp chats the important contact may get lost in the shuffle, the newly upcoming service has finally come up with a solution for it, the new update aims to bring more fun and convenience for the WhatsApp users.

According to Android Police, WhatsApp is testing a feature that would allow you to pin chats, keeping them at the top of the chat list even if you get messages from other users.

Android users running WhatsApp beta versions 2.17.162 or 2.17.163 and will probably take a bit of time before being rolled out to general users, reported Android Police.

You simply have to press on the chat you want to pin to the top, and choose the Pin symbol from the top bar. The other options alongside Pin are Delete, Mute, and Archive.

Once you pin a chat, it will remain on top of your chat list regardless of other new messages popping up. However, you can pin only three chats to the top.

WhatsApp also allows you to unpin these chats whenever you want by just long pressing the option and disabling the pin button.

The option to pin favorite or useful conversation to the top has been a trademark feature among most email services. With WhatsApp adopting the feature, it is primarily eliminating the need to scroll through a huge list of conversations.

Recently, WhatsApp rolled out support for video calling, it added two-step verification to tighten the security aspect of its app. The social messaging app recently got its own Snapchat-clone and is also testing live location sharing feature.
