Xiaomi Mobile – a Chinese electronics company headquartered in Beijing, is world’s 4th largest smartphone manufacturer. Xiaomi also delivers phenomenal hardware and software services and creates high-end phones at mass-market prices.

According to details Xiaomi will automatically donate PKR 1,000 from its profits to SKMCH for every mobile phone sold via Xiaomi Online Store. Not only this but the company will donate Rs. 100 to SKMCH for every eco product purchased online – such as power bank, hands free, mi band etc.

Moreover, for every eco product purchased such as power bank, hands free, mi band etc, Xiaomi will be donating PKR 100 to SKMCH. This campaign started in Ramzan and will run till 15 days after Eid.

Mr. Ahmed Butt, Marketing Director Smartlink Technologies said, “I strongly believe that whatever we do in life, we cannot succeed until and unless we reach out and help those who do not have any support in their lives. When we got the opportunity to collaborate with Shaukat Khanum Trust for this campaign, we jumped right in because if we can have anything to do with the difference that SKMCH makes in people’s lives, we can be proud of not only our initiative but also the empathy from our customers.”

In 2016, SKMCH recorded 10,203 new patient registrations and 236,351 outpatient visits, almost three times the number of registrations, and five times the number of visits in 2000.

Last year, Zakat contributions made it possible to treat almost 75% of poor cancer patients for free. This year SKMCH needs to raise PKR 5.5 Billion to help treat poor cancer patients.

Pakistan is the world’s 6th largest market for smartphones. According to Pakistan Startup Report, the figure can potentially go up to 110 million people in the next 4 years. There couldn’t have been a better time for Xiaomi to reach out to Pakistan, where affordable and feature-rich smartphones dominate the market. Secondly, 77% of the country’s population is below the age of 30 which matches Xiaomi’s target market goals.
