Alibaba Group expresses interest in Pakistan’s e-commerce industry

Chairman Alibaba Group Jack Ma expressed his interest in investing in Pakistan’s e-commerce sector.

Alibaba group has expressed enthusiasm in Pakistan’s e-commerce sector while accepting Premier’s invitation to visit Pakistan.

Founder of the Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba Group Jack Ma said they are willing to sponsor small scale industries in developing countries including Pakistan. Ma added that his company was closely monitoring progress of Pakistan’s e-commerce sector.

In a meeting held in Davos, Switzerland during World Economic Forum, owner of Alibaba Group Jack Ma said that teh company is closely observing recent economic stability in Pakistan.

“We are ready to invest for establishing an e-commerce platform in Pakistan”. In further mutual discussion, he termed China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) an immense opportunities generator.

He accepted the invitation from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to nearly visit Pakistan. Jack Ma also invited the PM Nawaz to visit his company headquarters in Guangzhou.

During meeting with PM Nawaz Sharif, Jack Ma informed that their e-commerce company is facilitating 60 million small and large businesses across the world.

Alibaba is a leading Chinese e-commerce company that provides online shopping services like Amazon and eBay through their web portal Alibaba.com.

The company is founded by Jack Ma in 1999. Alibaba provides electronic payment services, a shopping search engine and data-centric cloud computing services.

On January 17, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of eBay, Devin Wenig also said Pakistan is among the fastest growing e-commerce markets in the world
