American multinational entertainment co. Netflix has finally announced a most demanded feature for their subscribers. The Netflix allows their worldwide disconnected members on offline mode, to download selected TV shows and movies for viewing on Android and Apple devices.
Despite avoiding the feature for years, Netflix on its media blog announced that it has launched a “Available for Download” option that will allow users to save content to their phones or tablets, without extra charges, they can watch it even without an internet connection but the download menu on laptop computers is currently not available.
A large number of subscribers demanded the facility to watch content where cellular data and wireless internet connections are unavailable or significantly weak. Netflix subscribers worldwide can download certain series and films with no added cost for both Android and iOS devices. The download feature is available across all of Netflix’s plans, on the latest version of the Netflix app.
Eddy Wu, Netflix’s product innovation director, published in a blog post. “While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their ‘Stranger Things’ binge while on airplanes and other places where internet is expensive or limited,”
He further added, that he is not sure which series and films are currently available, but Wu made sure to point out a few of Netflix’s originals that are, including “Orange is The New Black,” “Narcos” and “The Crown” more movies and TV series to come soon.
To check if the your favorite movie or TV series is available for download, you need to have iOS 8.0 software or later, or Android 4.4.2 or later and the latest Netflix app version. Just search the movies or series you want and look for the downward arrow pointing to download.
