The Pakistan pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai has received The BURJ CEO “Best Pavilion Exterior Design,” award, announced the pavilion’s official Twitter account on Monday.
The Burj CEO Awards, held under the patronage of Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum Juma Al Maktoum, concluded with the prizes awarded to companies and the best pavilions at Expo in a huge ceremony with the participation of a large group of officials, companies, and businessmen.
“We are happy to celebrate the award given by Burj CEO for ‘Best Pavilion Exterior Design at Dubai Expo’,” tweeted the official Twitter account of the Pakistan Pavilion.
The Expo 2020 started last year on Oct. 1 and as of mid-February, Pakistan’s pavilion had been visited by nearly a million people, the country’s foreign ministry claimed.
Rashid Rana, the designer of the pavilion, is an NCA graduate and a mentee of Zahur ul Akhlaq (1941-1999). He values the primacy of ideas in artistic practices and therefore invests prodigiously in the thought process that ends up in the formation of an idea.
“Ideas take center in my imagery and pictorial strategies; they dictate the medium and format to be employed,” he says. The ideas are what set humans free, therefore, he invests prodigiously in the thought process that ends up in the formation of an idea.
Sitara-e-Imtiaz for Rana
Rashid Rana was also bestowed with Pakistan’s third-highest civilian award, the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, earlier this month.
“The Pakistan Pavilion would also like to congratulate Pakistan’s most celebrated artist and the exterior designer of The Pakistan Pavilion, Mr. @RashidRanaRR, on receiving the Sitara -E- Imtiaz (civilian award) in recognition of his achievements in the field of fine art.” added the pavilion’s official Twitter handle.

Various other award winners of the Expo 2020 include:
- Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and the Managing Director for Expo 2020 won “the Best Woman in Business” award.
- The UAE Pavilion, Saudi Arabia Pavilion, Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park Pavilion, RAK Chamber of Commerce Pavilion and Dubai Police Pavilion won awards among the best pavilions of Expo 2020 at the Burj CEO Awards
- Bireswar Panicker, CEO and owner of TransEuro Group secured the Burj CEO award for ‘Business Leadership’.
- Obinna Ikocha, managing director at Maple Eagle Group of Companies, won the ‘Holistic Future Business Model’ award
The Awards were presented to organizations and top executives in regard to their quality performance and excellent services to their specific company as well as the whole industry.
