Pakistan’s first Aviation City to be built at Aeronautical Complex Kamra

Foundation stone laid by Planning and Development minister Ahsan Iqbal and Air Chief Sohail Aman at Kamra Aeronautical Complex

Pakistan’s first ever Aviation City to be established at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra. Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal and Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman laid the foundation stone of Aviation City at Aeronautical Complex Kamra.

The groundbreaking ceremony of Aviation City, Air University Aerospace and Aviation Campus was held at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra.

According to Radio Pakistan, Aviation City would house various hi-tech and state of the art academic, research and development institutes which would pave way for achieving everlasting self-reliance in the field of aviation industry.

Speaking to the ceremony, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman said that establishment of the aviation city will help achieve self-reliance in defence production, besides adding that it will support economic activities.

He further said that it will also lead towards production of fifth generation fighter jets in the country and will help support economic activities.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal at the unveiling ceremony of Aviation City said that a strong air force and aerospace platform is imperative for a strong Pakistan.

The Minister said Pakistan Air Force has played a critical role in the war against terrorism and without its contributions the nation would have not registered the immense successes it has against the menace.

Ahsan Iqbal noted that air force is an important element of any nation’s power which has assumed new importance for national security.

He appreciated the earnest efforts of Air Chief in establishing a state of the art Aviation City at Kamra and assured on behalf government to provide every possible resource for transforming this dream into reality.

Former Air Chiefs, Dr Mukthar Ahmed, Chairman HEC, Air vice Marshal (Retd) Faaiz Amir, Vice Chancellor Air University and high ranking civil and military officials also attended the ceremony.

Air University Aerospace and Aviation Campus of Aviation City has been modeled after the internationally acclaimed Aviation Universities in the world and it would focus hands-on learning in state-of-the-art maintenance & avionics repair facilities, and first class simulation centers.
