The updated political map of Pakistan integrates Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir

Prime Minister Imran Khan has unveiled a new “political map of Pakistan”, integrating the whole Kashmir region including Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) as part of Pakistan’s territory.

“This is the most historic day in Pakistan’s history,” PM Khan said, adding that the “new political map of Pakistan is as per the aspirations of the entire nation as well as the people of Kashmir.”

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the changes introduced in the map explicitly showed occupied Kashmir as a disputed territory and the only solution to the issue would be through the UNSC resolutions and as per the aspirations of the people.

The map had also made clear that Siachen is a part of Pakistan, he said. “[Through the map] we are challenging their illegal occupation and claiming our right to the area”

Pakistan has also rejected India’s claims about Sir Creek, Junagadh and Manavadar as well as parts of Ladakh.

The foreign minsiter congratulated the entire nation and Prime Minster Imran for taking the “unprecedented step”.

“For the first time in history our government has openly presented its stance before the world,” he said.

PM Imran Khan, in his recent interview, said that the Indian government’s revocation of Article 370 in 2019 turned the disputed region into an “open-air prison”.

Meanwhile, the Indian government has imposed curfews in part of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) in a bid to stop protests against the revocation of Article 370 on its first anniversary on August 5th
