CES 2017 in Las Vegas was big on virtual and augmented reality, wearable tech, self-driving cars, drones and robots
Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held in Las Vegas, Nevada, is one of the biggest annual events. This year around 175,000 parties presented their inventions and products at the show. The event hosted more than 600 startups at the Eureka Park Marketplace. Over 175,000 industry professionals, including 55,000 from outside the US, convened in Las Vegas to drive the ever-evolving global technology industry forward, said the official CES site.
There were many crazy things revealed at CES that will be launched commercially in near future, things from robots to washing machines or from bike to amazing laptop proposals. Here we have listed some of the coolest gadgets and products on display at CES 2017:
1. Toyota Concept-i
Designed from the inside out, Toyota Concept-i is an exciting glimpse into a future mobility that is warm, friendly and revolves around you.
Concept-i looks as brilliant as it sounds from its expressive sculptural qualities and elegant graphics to its captivating lighting and design. Its minimal yet artful interior is designed to help support its user experience. Concept-i is a masterpiece that always looks like it’s in motion, even when it’s not.
2. LG’s Hub Robot
The LG Smart Hub Robot is developed for home jobs mostly. This robot is capable of following simple voice commands. It is able to turn on air condition or want to start washing machine by using Amazon Alexa voice recognition system. This newly announced gadget is another in the long line of CES 2017 robot companions, but unlike many others, it has a tech giant behind its development.
Its display doubles as both a face that can show emotions. The robot is meant to be set up at a central point in a home, such as the kitchen or living room. Miniature versions of the robot are also available for other rooms.
3. Mayfield Robotics’ Kuri
Mayfield Robotic consist a small team of engineers and roboticists but their produced robots bring joy to your house.
Domestic robots are sort of here, with self-driving and speakers that control your smart home, but Mayfield Robotics’ Kuri could be the first real home robot, combining mobility and true interaction with approachable, friendly design.
4. LG W7 ultrathin OLED
The all-new W7 OLED is like no TV you’ve ever seen. It can’t stand by itself on legs or a pedestal. Instead, it requires a wall. And when attached to that wall, it protrudes no further than a couple of coins stacked together: just 3.85 mm. That’s 0.15 inch, so thin you’d never notice it from the side.
5. Samsung Chromebook Plus
The newly announcement is Samsung Chromebook Plus, its 12.3-inch touchscreen display features Quad HD resolution, support for a built-in S Pen stylus and 2.0GHz hexa-core processor packs plenty of power.
It offers everything whatever you’re doing. Use it like a laptop to reply to emails or to work on a paper. When you need a break, flip the screen so you can play games or catch up on your latest book.
6. Energous WattUp

7. AirTV Player
Dish’s AirPlay TV in an Android TV box that takes nearly everything great about streaming devices and adds an over-the-air HDTV antenna into the mix.
AirTV Player aims to bring back the simplicity of the past while providing all the channels and services you already enjoy. Ideal for cord cutters, it allows you to get local channels without an input switch thanks to OTA antenna integration.

8. ODG R-8 and R-9 Smartglasses
The R-8 and R-9 are designed to view augmented realities, it is Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset destined to be found in nearly every flagship Android smartphone this year, the R-8 and R-9 smartglasses are both lightweight solutions capable of immersing the wearer in mixed reality. There is a slight difference in both their specification:
R-8 Smartglasses – The consumer-oriented R-8 has the same overall insides with the high-end Snapdragon 835, but with dialed back resolution of 720p, a 40-degree field of view, and 64GB of storage. However, the R-8 is equipped with dual 1080p resolution stereo cameras. The R-8 will be shipping to developers in the second half of this year, and will be priced under $1,000.
R-9 Smartglasses – For the commercial targeted R-9, the field of view is 50-degrees with 1080p resolution. There is a 13-megapixel front facing camera, capable of shooting 4K video at 60 frames-per-second, or 1080p video at 120 frames-per-second. There are two speakers positioned near the ears, and there is 128GB of storage. Units will begin shipping in the second quarter this year with a price tag of roughly $1,800.
9. Honda’s self-balancing motorcycle
Honda has launched its ‘riding assist’ technology at this year’s CES, greatly reducing the chance of hitting the sidewalk while the bike is at rest. The technology is working fine if there is no rider at all, at means bike won’t fall in any case. The bike is also programmed to turn around and is capable of remaining upright without the use of a kickstand.
Moreover, if you are in congested traffic, parking lots or tight spaces the chances of ending up on the pavement are a whole lot higher. We might never the tech in actual bikes, but it sure does look cool.
10. Razer’s insane three monitor laptop
Razer is a cool gadgets performer at CES, but its coolest product was definitely its prototype of a gaming laptop with THREE 4K displays. That’s right, this beastly laptop has three 17.3-inch displays pushing millions of pixels.
Dubbed Project Valerie, the laptop is powered by an Intel Kaby Lake processor and Nvidia’s 1080 graphics card. We just saw a prototype, but Razer says the final version will have the two side monitors slide out of the main monitor, for easy storage.
