Messaging platform WhatsApp has crashed for millions of users across the world in its largest outage this year.

Downdetector reported thousands of Whatsapp outages in the last 24 hours in different countries including UK and UAE.

Many users who tried to use the app on Tuesday morning were faced with a “connecting” message.

“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible,” said a spokesman for Meta, platform’s parent company.

According to internet monitoring organization NetBlocks the outage is affecting users around the world.
